Honey
from Lucerne

Lucerne honey typically has a delicate floral aroma with a clean, mild sweetness. It is less bold than many darker honeys, making it perfect for everyday use across a wide range of foods.

It is especially suited to:

  • Spreading on toast or crumpets

  • Stirring into tea

  • Drizzling over yoghurt and fruit

  • Adding to dressings and marinades

  • Baking where a lighter honey flavour is preferred

Batch 2602

This small-batch honey comes from lucerne fields in the Coleambally irrigation area, where our bees were placed just before Christmas 2025 and worked the crop through to the end of January 2026. The period was marked by typical Riverina summer conditions—hot, dry days with occasional irrigation-driven humidity, creating strong flowering conditions but a short, intense nectar window.

Despite favourable flowering, yields were modest, with only 280 kg harvested from 108 hives, making this a limited and distinctive batch. The honey reflects the lucerne bloom—light in colour, mild and smooth in flavour, with a clean, delicate finish shaped by both crop and season.
