As the colder months approach, staff at Pure Pollination are focused on one critical task — ensuring our bees are healthy, well-fed, and ready for the challenges of the next pollination season.

Wintering bees properly is essential. It’s during this time that colonies conserve energy, cluster for warmth, and survive on stored resources. However, natural forage can be scarce, and without intervention, colonies can weaken or even perish. That’s why strategic feeding is crucial to maintain strong hive populations and vitality through winter.

Strong winter management pays dividends in spring. Healthy, robust colonies are vital for pollination season, ensuring crops thrive and ecosystems stay balanced. The effort we invest now directly impacts the success of the next seasons pollination, from almond orchards to canola fields and to fruit orchards and beyond.

Our current wintering preparations are well underway — feeding, checking hive strength, and relocating bees to optimal wintering sites. At Pure Pollination, it's a labor of love that plays a vital role in ensuring healthy bees and ensuring the success of global food production.

Here's to healthy bees and a productive season ahead!
